Band Practice Log
Practice logs are a weekly assignment that are due on Fridays as documentation that your student has practiced on their instrument for the required amount of time. Beginners are required to spend at least 100 minutes per week playing their instruments outside of class. Advanced students are required to spend at least 150 minutes per week playing their instruments outside of class. Learning to play a musical instrument takes many hours of practice, and in order to be able to be successful with the demands of their music, we highly encourage students to practice outside of class time.
The band hall does open at 7:00am every morning, and is open until 5:00pm every day (with the exception of Fridays) to allow for those students who are not able to transport their instruments, or play in their current living space (i.e. an apartment or condo).
Practice logs do require a parent signature if the practice is completed at home. If they complete their minutes at school, they may ask a band director to sign off for them.
